Day 10

This day we traveled from Bjorli to Volda.
We had a lot to look at.

The entire family had a woonderful time at Bjorli and we thank God for this experience.
Sithma and Nethmi
got a new friend at Bjorli, Rebekka.

By 6 p.m we had come to Volda.

Mafia Night - Mafia kveld

In good old days when I went to the youth meeting in Volda and specially at Nordre Vartdal we had one game.
Name? Mafia!
Purpose is easy enough. 1 boy/girl is the story teller. 1 og 2 persons are mafias and the rest are good law abiding citizens.
And each night everybody goes to sleep, minus of the story teller. So the mafia guy(s) wakes up chose a victim and next day this person is out of the game.
And in this game you have to be a convincing lier, wonderful thinking we played this at our youth gatherings.
So we liked to get ride of too smart people early in the game. And very often it leads to accusation of innocent people early on. And if the mafia is good he makes a complete mess for the innocent people and kill them all.
so like in OLD DAYS, we laughed, screamed and accused each other with fun and bumped each other off ;)
Roshini got a shock when she finally understood the game.
Fun we could do this again.

Misjons kveld

Porridge time

I Norge har vi 2 typer grøt.

Norway has got 2 main porridge types.
1. Rice kind which is milk and rice and very tasty. We have tried it out in Sri Lanka..
2. The sour one which is called rømmegrøt, made of soure cream and some other things.
Well they think we have some strange food customs in Norway and i understand my family, the Sri Lankan one.

Saturday - Day 9 26.June 2010

This morning Toby left after 1.5 day at Bjorli. Driving to Bjoa from Bjorli is a long drive so they started on saturday so they could take it easy and be home on Sunday without a lot of driving at once.

After he left another good old friend of mine came. Sindre from Volda.
He came to Sri Lanka 3 years ago and Roshini knows him well so for her it was fun too.
Rune also from Volda came and so it was almost like old times again.
That we should experience later that night. Look at Mafiua night story.

After we had a long talk it was time for mission night.
Look at Mission night story.

Fredagen hentet stevnet frem trampolinen for jentene.

Thursday 24 june

Early in the morning I got a call from an old friend of mine.
he lives in Bjoa and his name is Toby. Norwegian is Torbjørn.
He called and told me he was on the ferry. Somehow I got suspicious but thought. Nah, he is not coming.
A few hours later on that evening a man taps me on the shoulder during the evening meeeting. Who stood there?
Toby himself!
'

So he and Anita saw our family again since last August.

For us it was nice to see him again.
For me he is like a brother and I enjoy seeing them again.
For our girls, and especially Roshini it was good to see them.

A little big of advertisment for Roshini, he sells her bedsheets here in Norway. So contact Toby and get Roshinis Norwegian style bedsheets. 100% cotton.

Norwegian:
Torsdag 24.juni
Ingen ringere enn Torbjørn i egen person.

Day 7 Thursday 24.June 2010

today a little girl in red suit and red hat met a bear.
No it wasnt little redhood meeting the wolf. But she said: You look stuffed.
No comment! Because he is!

Båt turen - The boat ride 22.june

English:
The boat ride was very exciting for us all.
Its many years since I have been in Sponvika at aunty Marit and uncle Gunnars cabin. And since last time many things have changed all over. Change for good I say.
But we all had a wonderful on the sea.

New things

Elizabeth found out that some of the Norwegian hot dogs was a bit big. But tasty!
Now, is the hot dog too big or not?

Hos tante fikk Elizabeth prøve noske pølser.
OK, var pølsa litt stor eller?
Men den var så deilig!

Day 5 - 22.june Boat trip day

Day 5 was the day we went to aunty Marit and
uncle Gunnar at their cabin in Sponvika.
Name is Grotten so we had a good time. The sun was smiling at us that day so the girls
could walk in the water and fish crabs.
They had over 9 crabs and Nethmi caught a lot of crabs.
Sithma was doing fine as well.
For little Elizabeth she went crazy when she saw the water and ran right into the water and had a
good bath.

Even though 18 degrees in the water she didnt care and had a ball splashing in the water.
After some more splashing around and more crab fishing we had a nice little boat ride in uncle

Gunnars little boat. OK, a bit bigger than a row-boat.
The girls had the time of their lives and enjoyed the wind woshing and the waves and it all.
Roshini sat and thoughtn this was beautiful.
Little Elizabeth couldnt help herself and jumped into the driver seat.
This was a wonderful day for us all.
Also for Captain Elizabeth at the helm.

Halden by night

When Roshini and I walked around i Halden we were stunned by how beautiful it looks here in the late evening so we took some beautiful photos.

Day 4 - Dag 4 21.June 2010

Day 4 of our stay in Norway.
This was our major rest day. We slept until 9.30 and did nothing.
Kids went to the towns fortress in Halden. And they were exhausted when they came back form that walk.
So when the evening came Roshini and I thought we had to test our strength as well. Excused ourselves with this was exercise.
So we went around 10 p.m and spent the next hour or so walking up and down to the Fortress from Kr.August Gt.
Roshini loves the view and we agreed upon we shall have more walks up there.

Day 3 - Sunday 20.June Dag 3 20.Juni

Sunday 20.June was a great day for our family. At noon our relatives, uncle, aunties and cousins came. And we all had a great family re.union. or most celebrating Besto, my grand mothers 95th birth day. The Lord has given her 95 years and she is still going very strong. Incredible in some ways.
This was also her first time seeing her great grand children, the only one she has who lives in Sri Lanka. For Nethmi, Sithma and Elizabeth this was wonderful experience to see her.

Not only her, but aunty Elin, oncle Jostein, my aunty Marit and my uncle Gunnar. Plus my cousin Kristian, Tina and her husband Andre.
What a wonderful time we had together. We found out it was 8 years since we all on our side had gather together. May it not take so long to next time we see each other.

17.May in Sri Lanka / 17.Mai i Sri Lanka

Here you can see our 17th may celebration this year in Colombo. It took place on the 16th. And as we sign in Norwegian: Hipp HURRA FOR NORGE!

pray for church members i Negombo

Dear reader!
Last Friday a tragic accidents occured and killed 2 dear churcvh members of our church here in Negombo. 1 of them was a young girl who just got married last year. Behind sits a very sad husbond. Please pray for him. That the Lord will give him strenght.
The other one was a older member. Behind sits a wife and 4 sons. Pray for his family as well.
For us in the church this has touched us in a very deep way and we grieve with the families. But we lift them up before the Lord.
