It is the day after the match. Sri Lanka lost the quarter final match against South Africa in Cricket world cup 50 overs. Our pride got beaten and sent home.
Everybody thought this would be a win. Why? South Africa had never gone beyond the this stage and they were jinxed. So much for that jinx, apparently they broke the spell yesterday.
Last year we won the 20 over world cup, this year in the 50 overs we only managed to get to the quarter final, and sent home in shame.
The Sri Lankan lion is back in cage as a friend of mine said.
All my cricket loving friends in Sri Lanka were really sad yesterday. The road from hero to zero is not far.
So we have to look forward to the next world cup and hope for a better results. In the meanwhile we cricket loving people must mourn for a while.
Bible speaks about there is a time for everything:
Ecclesiastes 3
4a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
But a few verses below it says something very important:
11He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
He has put eternity in our hearts.
We need a savior, not a cricket player. His name is…..
JESUS!!!!
