Our hotel

d
o
YWCA hotel in Singapore is very good and to be honest the price is not bad either.
Its very central down town.
So here you have some photos so enjoy.
Last photos from Singapore for today.

Down in the reception they had a large piano. The only thing it missed was a player and then he/she could just play away those nice, smooth songs.
Unfortunately the player, the songs and that mood was absent while we stayed there. Pity!

Some more photos of Singapore - flere bilder

Her får du noen flere bilder av Singapore.
Here you get some more photos of Singapore, including a rich-shaw and much more.
Just enjoy it.

Singapore Olympic

Prior to our arrival Singapore had the Youth olympic. How they did I don't know but its nice to know and see.

Norsk:

Singapore food

I fell in love with 1 dish in Singapore.
Laksa!
Its a curry hodi dish with noodles and stuff in it. Some times shrimps and some kind of meat or bread thing. And nice curry in it, but very tasty. I had it several times and really enjoy it.
So now I have asked Roshini to make it one day.

On the train in Singapore

For those who has traveled by train on the indian continent knows that go by train is an experience of its own. When you come to Singapore from where we are living, Sri Lanka it just is the west and so organized there too.
They even had a catchy jingle running every time the train was coming: The train is coming the train is coming. Please get all in line.
The only thing that was missing for this was. The train is
going, the train is going. Now we go! Or something like that

.

sightseeing - part 1

On Friday I got the chance to look around in Singapore together with Philip from Toyochem.
He showed me around I got to see a lot of beautiful things of Singapore.
Here is part 1. Sightseeing of Singapore

Little India

We had some time on Saturday before departure so we went to India. To be more specific: Little India in Singapore down town. You went on at our railway station by our hotel and when we stepped out into Little India it was like another world. People, smells and all that. Reminded me about some parts of Colombo and I almost felt like home right away.
It was fun to see.
People were wearing salvar kamesh, traditional customs you see tamils wearing in India and Sri Lanka.
The Hindu kovil and the red dot on their heads. The nice spices and the tamil language. I really enjoyed this quick change. Just a few stops down from were we had our hotel we entered a another world.

Things I liked about Singapore

I got many impression and many things I just enjoyed there. Food, people, climate and many other things.
But some things just cought my attention. One of them was this warning sign:

OK, so you don't get a 500 dollar fine for havinga durian but you are duly warned.
I wonder WHY?
And this was on a railway station.

Trip to Singapore

Early in September, 8.we 3, Mr.Bandu, I and Daniel went to Singapore.

Why we went to Singapore?

Mr.bandu and Daniel was there to promote New Life. I came along for one reason only. Our purchase! Yes, every accountant in every company dread when their purchase manager goes shopping, so it is with us. But we went to Singapore getting a very good paper price for the Arabic NT.

Beside that Mr.Bandu and I went to meet our chemicals and ink supplier as well as many other suppliers. Unfortunately Singapore had a public holiday so my time was limited so I had to plan and work very efficient which I did when I think back.

We meet people who are very passionate about the gospel and we hope many will team up with New Life, Sri Lanka. One of our projects these days is the Arabic NT. Pray for it.

But we 3 had a good time and what we did went down very well.
