The Key to Possessing Your Promised Land God wants to lead you into your promised land...after all, you have been recreated in Christ, born anew, that you might live the good life that God prearranged for you. But to follow God into that life, He will have to prepare you first, and that means some things will need to change. Now, don't be afraid of the word change; it just means that you stop doing some things you've been doing and start doing some things you haven't been doing. For example, stop thinking negative thoughts and start thinking positively, stop settling in your comfort zone and step out of the boat, stop procrastinating and start taking the opportunities that arise. It's not enough to just read about and talk about the Promised Land. Decide that you are going to possess your promised land. God is good; He will lead you there. Just be willing to follow and accept the positive changes that God wants to bring to your life as He prepares you to be a blessing to others. Prayer Starter: Holy Spirit, show me the changes I need to make in order to possess my promised land. Thank You for preparing me to be a blessing to others and fulfill the destiny You have for me. Fw: Last Sunday - sist søndag

 

 

søndag for en uke sidne var vi å besøkte Roshini sin familie i Moratuwa.

Det var veldig koselig. At en har skole om morgenen i Colombo, før en setter seg i bilen, kjører ned sør for Colombo før en setter seg i bilen litt senere for å gå i kjerka tar på.

Det sagt fikk vi max ut av den søndagen med skole, famuilie og kirkebesøk.

Alle var velsignet den dagen.

Lille Elizabeth fikk også sitte på motorsykkel og det syns hun var skøy.

 

Last Sunday, a week ago we went to Moratuwa to visit Roshini family.

I must say that was very nice, that we could combine school for me in Colombo, while Roshini is having her back pain treatment, then family visit and finally church back home is very good.

With this new highway we could combine a lot of things and still make it without being late.

For little Elizabeth it was extra fun since she got to sit on her uncles motorbic, not riding it just pretending.

Forige lørdag var det poya, dvs buddhistisk høytidsdag.

Og det som var litt spesielt var at en kunne se så mange grønnsakshapper i Negombo var stengt. Negombo er tradisjonelt katolsk så var litt rart.

Selv om mange av små forhandelree var stengt fikk Roshini og jeg kjøpt inn de grønnsakene vi trengte.

 

Saturday was poya, buddhist holidY.

nNormally the marked is crowded in Negombo but on last Saturday it was virtually empty.

Just a few shops were open and very few people around.

 

Still we got our vegetables and could go home knowing we had food for Sunday.

Ephesians 6: 10 & 13, NIV Yesterday I had the enormous joy of watching my five year old son compete in his first gymnastics competition and win a bronze medal for his display. As they read Kyle's name out I was rightfully proud and overjoyed at seeing my son stand up and be applauded for his hard work. As good as his gymnastic display was, I felt a deeper pride for a very different reason. Kyle is the only boy in his group, with only one other (much older) boy in the whole club – both of them surrounded by girls! Throughout the year, a couple of other boys attended, but only for a short time, as they soon announced it was just for girls. This opinion was spoken out to Kyle frequently, but he stood firm, and continued his attendance and practice. This is where my pride in my son lies most deeply – his steadfastness; even against the harsh words of others, and the obvious lack of other boys around him. When he received his medal, it was a result, not just of hard work in his gymnastics, but of an attitude that stood firm and didn't let it matter what others said. It`s a challenge to us all in this world, where there`s a continuous stream of opinion and beliefs thrown at us and the plumb-line of truth is increasingly difficult to find in the sea of political correctness and liberal attitudes. Standing our ground on the truth is becoming increasingly important, and a real test of our faith. This Scripture reminds us that it`s the armour of God that makes it possible for us to stand firm – truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. These are the things that enable us to stand against the popular opinion and the increasingly loud voices that would encourage us to give in to a more liberal lifestyle, or give up entirely. We need not hide. We need not bow to a watered-down Gospel. We can stand up tall, knowing, one day, every eye will see that we stood for truth. And they will watch as we take our place and receive our special reward from God himself. Prayer: Father God, I`m sorry that I`ve not always stood firm in truth and have allowed myself to be swayed by others` opinions and beliefs. Help me to stand firm in You from now on, until the time comes for me to receive my reward in heaven. Amen. Don't Worry...Worship! I remember a morning when I sat down to pray and instead began to worry about whatever my current situation was and to consider what I was going to do about it. Suddenly I heard that still, small voice inside my spirit say, "Joyce, are you going to worship your problem or Me?" See, God was more than willing to handle my problem if I was willing to forget it and spend time worshipping Him. When we worship the Lord, we release the emotional or mental burden that weighs us down. It is swallowed up in the awesomeness of God. When we keep our eyes on Him and worship, we will always see His plan for our lives work out all things for our good. The Bible says there is no lack for those who truly worship the Lord with godly fear. Do you want to be sure all your needs will be met? Then remember to worship, not worry. Regardless of the difficulties you face, just keep praising God and giving Him glory. Faith will rise in your heart, and you will overcome. Prayer Starter: God, I will not worry. Instead, I choose to worship You. You are great and mighty, and I know that my needs are met because of Your goodness and love for me. Psalms 34:9

Kjære venner, halv uke er over og vi ser de arabiske biblene bare kommer ut av pressa i en enorm stor fart. Det er med en glede å se det går så fort fremover. Som om ikke det er nok skal vi trykke andre språk om ikke lenge.

ukeslutt

Vi har kommet til vegs ende pa enda en uke. Imorgen er det sondag , Gud sin hviledag. For meg og Nathan blir det studering igjen og det ser vi frem til

 

Jeg liker de klassene for vi lerer Nye ting og se programmer fra en ny vinkel.

 

Idag kom vaar datter Sithma hjem fra misjonsturen I Jaffna. Den turen hadde Four Square menigheten I Negombo arrangert for ungdommene. De har hatt en fin tur der de fikk delt Guds ord og vert til oppmuntring for barnehjemmet der oppe.

Forstar det har vert stor stas og det gleder meg.

 

Loerdag er dagen da en tar igjen det en ikke far tid til ellers I uka pga arbeid.

Rydde, handle, ga I banken, posten, lese m.m.

Det er mye som en skal gjoere og da ma en planlegge litt.

Nar en summerer opp syns jeg vi fikk gjort mye denne uka og ikke minst idag,.

 

Jeg ser frem til imorgen og vet det blir en ny dag fra Herren og den skal bli herlig dere.

 

 

Saturday and week end

We are at a another weekend and tomorrow its Sunday.

Lords day, for me and Nathan its class again at Ingrin institutue.

It is good to learn new things and I enjoy doing that.

 

Today our daughter Sithma came back from her mission trip to Jaffna.

You can see photos online and they must have had a wonderful time.

Im glad she went and had the opportunity to share Gods Word and help the children at the orphanage.

 

As Saturday is the big working day we had to cover a lot of ground today with cleaning the house, go shopping, make sure all the things we usually cant get done in the week days are done.

Catch up with this and that and when we look back at today and even this week its a good week.

 

I look forward to tomorrow and know it will be a another great day from the Lord.

God Can Set You Free from Your Shame Do you ever wonder what life was like for Adam and Eve before they sinned? Genesis 2:25 tells us that though Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden, they were not ashamed. I believe that in addition to indicating they were without clothes, this Scripture also implies they were totally open and honest with each other, not hiding behind any masks, not playing any games. They were free to be themselves because they had no sense of shame. Once they had sinned, however, they hid themselves (see Genesis 3:6-8). If not for the work Jesus did on the cross, all of us would have to live with the overwhelming shame of sin. But because of His sacrifice, mankind has the opportunity to enjoy perfect freedom with one another and with God. Unfortunately, most of us still live with the burden of shame, even though the Word of God promises us and assures us that we can be free of it (see Isaiah 61:7). God can deliver you from shame. Pray and ask Him to set you free from the shame that tries to build up within you. Prayer Starter: Lord, I receive the freedom from shame that You purchased for me on the cross. No more hiding, no more feeling worthless. You have erased my sin and now I want to live free and open before You. Isaiah 61:7
