Yesterday I went to Volda the town I came from. It was good to meet old friends and places.

I got to see nice harbour and good

Last night we casme to our family cabin in Alesund.

Its cold here, much colder then Sri Lanka. About 12 degree c.¨

 

Da er vi på hytta ppå Emblem utenfor Ålesund.

det er litt kaldt her, ikke som Sri Lanka. 12 grader, ikke varmt det.

 

 

Day 2 in Norway 2012 Saturday 9 June

Dear all!

Its so strange to wake up a few hours earlier then normal.

Yes the Sri lanka time still sits in my body but I will soon enough get used to Norway time.

 

Called my dear Roshini and family and they are fine.

 

Today was the great boys trip to Strømstad in Sweden.

Every year when I come to Norway I go with my best friend Bjarne to Sandefjord, takes the boat to Sweden.

There we go to a local joint eating a very good pizza.

Then we take the boat back, shop some snacks and chocolate at the duty free and danish sausages before going back to Horten.

This year we started off a bit late.

Realizing that taking the 2 pm boat and only get 35 minutes in Strømstad would not be enough or have to eat that pizza rather fast.

Im sorry if we do this every 2 year we were not to speed eating.

So I called my father Tore and told we would take a later boat and coming back to Halden early Sunday morning.

 

So we got to eat our delicious pizza and a banana split too with coffee.

 

Now we had a good time and I really enjoy we boys can have fun looking at the nice harbour and much more.'

That said I have to say the so called summer weather has manage to escape us so far.

Last time I came it was rather cold and it is not much of a difference this time too. On the positive side, I get a nice none-sweating weather.

 

 

What really impressed me was the weather on the way back you can see the sun set from the ship. I mean it was so beautiful to see the sun go down in the ocean.

 

I have to say the day was very good. And the weather didn't stop us nor the big waves on the way back to Norway.

 

 

 

 

 

day 1go to Norway

Good morning my blggers!
To travel to Norway is a long journey,.
I love to see and experience new things.
But get up 1 in the mornng and fly ht arly is not asy. It throws your daily rythme into a whack.

It idnt help me that my stomach went funny so I dint manage to aet anthin either until the second leg of th trip yesterday.

But bsids that it was a good flight from Doha to Noray.
I got rest. But 7 hours on a plane is a long time, an the last 1.5 hour really made me fed up.

When I came to Norway my mother, fther and m big brother Jostein was there. It was good to se him again. Haven't seen him for 2 yers an t is good to meet once family.

In the evening we had delicious Norwegian strawberries and some even more Norwegian food. Taco!

I also got to meet my grand mother too. We went and visited here at her eldery home. She will in a few days turn 97.
For being 97 she is doing very well.

I want to share with you a verse from psalm.92v15
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble,; I will deliver him and honor him.

We have a Lord that hears us and answers. And when I met my grandmother yesterday who is 97 but walked with the Lord all her life the other verse really poke to me:
See ame chapter but verse 16 with long life I will satisfy him.
Our Lord wants to satisfy us wih a LONG LIFE.

So let us call upon the name above all name, LORD JESUS

going to NOrway

Early Friday morning I will go to Norway, that is something I have looked forward to a long time.
Look forward to come home soon to Sri Lanka with strength and renewed energy for the task at hand we have here at NLL.
The Word must go out and the need is so great.
 
 

Breakup with Sweden

In the 1880s Norway got parlemanternism where the parliament accerted itself and gained more power on cost of the King. In this case the king was not in in Oslo but in Sweden.
In 1905 the businessman Christian Michelsen formd a coalition governemn sconsiting of conservatives and liberals. They had only 1 objective and that was to establish a Norwegian corps of consuls around the world.
This was like a drama well planned and staged.
So the they passed the bill knowing the King would not sign the bill into law. Hence the government of Norway resigned.
So he, Michelsen said under these cicumstances he could not form a government and a constitutional crises broke out. The NOrwegian position was :
Since all the members of the cabinet have resigned their positions; since His Majesty the King has declared his inability to obtain for the country a new government; and since the constitutional monarchy has ceased to exist, the Storting(the norwegian parliament) hereby authorizes the cabinet that resigned today to exercise the powers held by the King in accordance with the Constitution of Norway and relevant laws - with the amendments necessitated by the dissolution of the union with Sweden under one King, resulting from the fact that the King no longer functions as a Norwegian King.
It almost came to war but was staged off.
So the Norwegian played out the swedish king.

Here you see the Storting in 1905.

So now you know how norway got its independence, in short.

Love is inpatient or?

Today I went to the government department for immigration. Bad enough that I had to run to the bank and get money. But when you sit there and 1 hour, 2 hours and yes 3 hours goes by, you think.
I prayed for a while and asked God, whats going on?
Please give a kick in someones , yes you can guess the answer yourself.
As I went up every now and then and asked nicely a word came: Love is what, love is patient. So I took up my mobile searched up 1 Corinthians and started to tell this: Love is patient, is kind, jump down to verse 5: does not BEHAVE RUDELY (at the immigration I never seen so many rude foreigners), does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil. (guilty) Lets jump to : but rejoices in the the truth. The truth here was: I had to be opatient and not be carried away like so many at the immigration office.  Next: bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

But by saying this Bible verse things started to go faster too.

Aa sitte med en bekk eller foss er beroligende . Om noen strakser reiser vi hjem til Negombo . Saa Jwg nyter dette oyblikket med figlesang og elvensang .

To sit at riverside or waterfalls is very calming and relaxing. In a short while we head back home to Negombo. So in this moment i enjoy the peaceful birds singing and the living water. The psalms talks on living water that shall dwell from out within.

Vakker blomst - a beautiful flower

 

 

For us men we say, she was like a beautiful flower.

But this time, I'm actually talking about a flower, the areliya flower.

Here in Sri Lanka we find it many places and I really like it.

Its very beautiful.

 

I Sri Lanka har vi mange vakre blomster, blomster og jenter.  Men en av dem er areliya

blomsten.  Når jeg er nede på helsestudio er det flere slike trær

utenfor der med blomstrene og de er vakre.

 Her Lang-Fredags kveld koste vi to oss med en god cup hjemmelaget cappucino.
Elizabeth voknet og sa nam nam og før vi viste ordet av det drakk hun litt siden Roshini delte med henne.
Det var nok sukkeret hun likte ja.
Hun må være lik faren sin for hun ble ikke mer hyper av kaffe men sovnet like etterpå.

ON Good-Friday Roshini and I made us a nice cup of home made cappucino.
Elizabeth woke up and said jammy and went for Roshinis cup. She drank and liked it.
I suppose the sugar amount was important.
she must be like her father, because she didnæt go hyper and she went straight to sleep.
 
 

my home town Negombo

I have a confession.
For years I said I do come from from Volda, a small but very picturesques town on the western coast of Norway.
But as I have driven through Negombo where I have no resided for the last 9 years.
Then Friday I took 1 photo and and today I got many more.
 And it has slowly dawned on me, I do love this town. It has it charm, it beauty and also the ugly bit too. But I realized I kind love this place.

The history of Negombo is rich, the architecture too. Churches, streets, people and nature.
We have so many things here and I will in time to come put many pictures from my home town Negombo.

 In time to come I really want to share this with you all.

Gods thoughts for us

Jeremiah 29:11-13

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

There is a Bible verse I really love.
It speaks about how God thinks about us.
Look at this verse, God has plans for us, He cares. Give hope and a future.

 

He has thought of a future and positivity,

I like the thoguth of knowing: God has hopes for me, so and so for you. He has hopes for our future.

 

Don't walk around and think no one think positive about you, God does.

Spend some time with HIM in the HIS WORD and find out more about HOW MUCH HE CARES, thinks and want to be a part of your life.
