Morgen
Isaiah 40:6-8, 25-26 ESV

A voice says, "Cry!" And I said, "What shall I cry?" All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.  The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass.   The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.   To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the Holy One.  Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.

Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.  He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.  Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;  but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

RE: exciting

good things come to those who wait

Psalm 27:14

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

  1. good things come to those who wait

    1. This is a saying we have in Norway.

    2. That's my question for you today, put in Gods context

    3. Many don't by the way

  2. As said in God context, are we waiting, seeking Him?

    1. I know personal this is not an easy task

    2. I personally want things to happened now

      1. Don't we all?

    3. Time we live in, is now now now,

    4. If not now o tomorrow, rather yesterday

    5. I was in Norway last year – everything happens like this and that and FAST, fast cars, buses, trains, everything fast.

    6. Time we live in hasnt got time to wait.

    7. Im not advocating procrastination here

      1. Here now after many years in Sri Lanka – Im glad things take time, learned me many good lessons.

  3. I want to share a story , 1 of many Gods has thought me on patience -

  4. The phone story – not the phony story

    1. I needed a phone and to be honest I wanted it now

    2. In all I prayed over this,

    3. Was my approach to this right? God teaches us wait for the Lord..

    4. And as I prayed God spoke, and said wait, Just wait.

    5. So I waited, started to seek information about the phone I really wanted.

    6. More information I found, more I understood this was not real need or what I wanted.

      1. You see + when we spend time wiyh God you see things differently

      2. you get a differently perspective

      3. learn about yourself too.

    7. Another story I could tell was this:

      1. We were supposed to print 3 million Gospel of Mark last year. Many months struggled, but we trusted in the Lord. Waited, waited m. Yes waited

      2. But God in His time came with the finances, 3 million this year 5 million.

  5. God showed me, same way I was looking up information on the phone

    1. I had to wait, look, be patient and seek

    2. Information

    3. Time it all

    4. I searched for insight,

  6. And this is What God wants us to do.

    1. Insight into His character to get to know HIM

    2. God is not a person we pray to, like a wish bone .

    3. My bible says, those who seek God, waits for him will find HIM.

    4. Also says:

Lamentations 3:25-26 ESV / 44 helpful votes

      1. The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

     Psalm.34 10The young lions do lack and suffer hunger;

  1.             But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.

  1. This builds us as believers - Romans.5 3And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

  2. It builds character – IT builds a GODLY character

    1. Be strong and let your heart take courage + not tired

    2. Time moulds and makes us

    3. Our faith becomes stronger

    4. Same happened with me and this phone.

      1. Didn't buy on it 1st day, when I wanted it. but much later.

      2. I didnt had to spend the first amount + iphone 6 plus was my target. that price,

      3. No I was lead b Him. A much cheaper and better for me, God guided me

      4. just an example, be patient

  3. Do you believe good things come to those who wait, for God?

    1. I do

    2. and so should you"!

    3. Last time I spoke on being s glory carrier, well without being patient and willing to wait for HIM – thats not possible

  4. waiting for the Lord teachres us this

1. It teaches us patience as we practice willing ourselves to "wait" on God.
2. It purifies our motives. Instead of acting out in lust, we learn to act out of love and obedience.
3. It protects us from unseen danger. God knows what's down the road. We don't. Giving us what we want now may not fit into the bigger picture of our lives. Sometimes, that can be a danger instead of a blessing.
4. It makes us great witnesses of God's faithfulness.
You and I have 3 choices when it comes to waiting on God.
1. We can manipulate our circumstances to get what we want. However, this robs us of God's best and could end in disaster.
2. Walk away from God when we allow our disappointment to turn from God.
3. We can wait and trust God has our best interested at heart. Waiting on God requires faith, patience, and humility.
